Ashleigh Clarke
Welcome. My name is Ashleigh Clarke a.k.a. Ashleigh RN. I am the founder of AshleighRN.com and am currently working as a Project Lead for the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Health Centre.
In 2006 Ashleigh Pugh-Clarke began her nursing career in Palliative Care at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario. Shortly thereafter Ashleigh moved to Princess Margaret Hospital (Toronto, Ontario) to work on a Medical and Radiation Inpatient Oncology Unit focusing on solid tumours (gynecological and head & neck cancers). In the short time since her undergraduate degree completion, Ashleigh has acquired a wide range of nursing experience in additon to oncology and palliative care. Her interests include nursing informatics, education, and psychosocial issues relating to nursing. Ashleigh holds an Honours BScN (York University) and completed her MN at the University of Toronto. Ashleigh currently works for the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Program as a Project Leader. Ashleigh is CNA certified in oncology and, in her previous role of Educator with the de Souza Institute, has been responsible for the leadership on developing number of courses including eHealth Nursing & Oncology and Foundations of Oncology Nursing Practice (which has had over 1000 participants in just the first year). Ashleigh is passionate about oncology nursing and was awarded with the 2011 Oncology "Nurse to Know" award by the Toronto chapter of the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology.
